The new update to Final Cut Pro X

final-cut-pro-xWith a new Magnetic Timeline, Redesigned Interface and Touch Bar integration on MacBook Pro, the new version of Final Cut Pro X will become a one-stop destination for all the video editing needs. Susan Prescott, who is the vice president of Apps Product Marketing at Apple, presented the new version of the software. She said that this is the biggest update for the software since 2011. The new version has a sleek design and has a number of new features that will help the user to do tasks beyond the capabilities of traditional and track-based video editing tools. The Integration with Touch Bar will give a new way to the video editors to interact with Final Cut Pro X.

The new Magnetic line brings a whole new way to video editing. The user can now color code the audios based on their roles such as dialogues, music, and effects. Now it is much easier to assign the roles to clips and audio files with color codes thus saves time and effort. This is the first time for any professional video editing software that the user can simply drag to rearrange the vertical layout of the timeline or highlight a specific portion of the audio roles while editing.

The touch bar will add more creativity and productivity to the tasks by dynamically adapting controls exactly when the user needs them. The Touch Bar allows the user to switch between tools instantly, adjust audio levels and tap into useful commands for trimming the video and playback. The entire color-coded timeline will get visible with just a tap on the touch bar.

The darker and flat look of the interface put more emphasis on the content. The user can customize the whole workspace based on different tasks for organizing, editing, and color grading. It also supports multiple monitors.

Additional features in Final Cut Pro 10.3:

  • It comes with easy Flow transition that creates invisibly smooth jump cuts.
  • It is possible to Remove Attributes that allows users to delete or reuse effects across multiple clips easily.
  • The Timecode overlay effect and generator allow the users to edit the timecode with a larger view.
  • The Support for ProRes MXF, Panasonic V-Log and export of AVC-Intra are now available.
  • Direct video output via Thunderbolt 3 makes it possible to do high-quality video monitoring on an external display with a single cable.

There are two more updated features named Motion 5.3 and Compressor 4.3. The first one is a sleek new interface with support for wide color workflow and 3D text. It allows the users to connect separate objects and create advanced animations. The second one now has a dark look to match the Final Cut Pro X interface. It allows the users to browse, verify and compress the packages. It makes it easy to transfer and deliver data quickly.

The update is available for free for the existing users. For the new users, the price will be USD 299.99. Motion 5.3 and Compressor 4.3 will also be free for the existing features. The new users can get them for USD 49.99.
