LeEco is a major shareholder in Coolpad. Since the two Chinese companies joined hands, they are working together to bring interesting devices in the market. The first phone that was named Coolpad Cool1 Dual was launched a few months back. It was well received in the market which further encouraged the companies to bring more devices.
Now, they have launched another phone for the Chinese market. Dubbed as Coolpad Changer 1C, it looks much similar to the LeEco phone design patterns. The phone has some decent innards, and the price is also very affordable. The MRP of the phone for the Chinese market is 899 Yuan which roughly makes Rs.9000/-. The international launch of the phone is still unknown. The phone will be available in the home market from December 5th.
Design and features
The design of the phone is simple yet elegant. There is a mirror finish fingerprint scanner on the back panel of the phone. The SIM card slot is on the left side of the phone while the power button and volume buttons are on the right side.
The Changer 1C comes with a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. It packs a decent 64-bit Snapdragon 652 MSM8976 processor that is clocked at 1.7 GHz. It also carries Adreno 510 GPU for better visuals. The phone sports 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage which can be expanded by using a microSD card. The specific amount of memory expansion the phone can accommodate is still unknown.
Optics will impress you
There is one slight downgrade in this phone from the other model under Cool series. The Cool1 came with a Dual camera setup which this phone only has one 13 megapixel rear cameras. It has a LED flash module, and the aperture of the rear camera is f/2.0. The phone also packs an 8-megapixel front camera with the aperture value at f/2.2. The broader aperture on the front camera will come in handy while shooting photos in low light conditions but the users may find it difficult in some cases to click a good selfie due to the lack of flash module in the front.
Connectivity on the go
The connectivity front of the phone is strong. It supports Dual SIM. The phone can connect to 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE bands. It also supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. NFC, however, is missing so the phone is not ideal for mobile payment services. The phone uses USB Type-C port for charging and wired connectivity.
It runs on Android 6.0 marshmallow. The dimensions of the phone are 152 x 74.8 x 8.2 mm and it weighs 167 grams. Unlike Cool1 which had CDLA technology for audio output, the Cool Changer 1C comes with 3.5mm audio jack which is good news for the users. The phone also packs an IR blaster port which can be used to control devices like AC, Refrigerator, and TV, etc. It packs 4060 mAh battery which is good enough for 25 hours of talk time over 3G network. The phone also supports fast charging.
