Founder of Ringing Bell and Maker of Popular $4 Smartphone Arrested for Fraud.

Hope you are aware the name, who had launched the cheapest phone in the world.  Let me introduce the name if you not aware; it’s Ringing Bells. Last year this company got popularity due to its low-priced phone, but this year it’s famous for some other reason. The founder of this company has arrested for a fraud case.

If we recall, last year this company had launched the budget device ‘Freedom’ priced at just Rs. 251 ($3.77). Low budget phones are big sellers in India. This news has created the sensation in the mobile market as its price was below $4. Mohit Goel, the head of this company alleged for fraud case on Thursday.

Here’s the story what happened. A client has paid Rs. 3 million to this company for a bulk order. Reportedly the client has received the fraction of the order only. Further, the client has reported that the devices which he has received were defective pieces.

As per the police reports, he has received only Rs. 1.4 million in the form of cash and new devices. One day he contacted to the company’s founder for the refund of the remaining amount. This is not something unusual; everybody would do the same. But this time things didn’t go quite well as planned. When he asked to return the money for the unfulfilled order, the founder threatened him. Mohit and one of his another executive have threatened to kill him and his family.

Police have arrested Mohit for declining his order and threatened to kill his client. The founder was recently arrested in India for this heinous crime. The police have produced him in court on Friday. Further, he will remain in police custody for investigation in this case. We have not found any news regarding the court’s decision till now.

Seems, the business profit is not going very well for this Company. Many users have booked this smartphone because of its low price tag. As per company reports, it has received more than 50 million pre- order for this handset. Most importantly these orders were placed in the first week only since this device was launched.

The company officials are still quite on the matter. They have not given any comment on this news yet. One thing is sure the hard days are now started for Ringing Bell. Stay tuned here for more news coming on this interesting case.
