Comment

The Taiwanese electronics manufacturer HTC has come up with some pretty decent smartphones in 2016. The company has now announced two more handsets for the Indian market. HTC Desire 10 Pro and 10 Evo will be soon available to grab. However, the launch date and other details about 10 Evo are still unknown. At the moment, the company is concentrating on the sale of HTC Desire 10 Pro for the Indian market which will start from mid-December. The MRP of the phone for Indian consumers is Rs.26490/-.

Good display with strong protection

The phone features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD touchscreen display with full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) that gives the pixel density of approx 400 ppi. It is protected by the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 5 which saves it from sudden fall, scratches and bumps.

Top class processor and amazing optics

The HTC Desire 10 Pro comes with MediaTek MT6755 Helio P10 chipset with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. You can upgrade the memory up to 256 GB via microSD card.

It packs two state-of-the-art cameras in front and rear end. The phone packs 20-megapixel rear cameras with the f/2.2 and 22mm lens. It supports laser focus and comes with Dual Tone LED flash module. The phone also packs a 13-megapixel front camera which is amazing for selfies and video chat. The aperture on the front camera is also f/2.2, and it has a 28mm lens. Both front and rear cameras can shoot videos at 1080p at 30 frames per second.

The rear camera supports a number of different features like autofocus, touch focus, geo-tagging, face detection, smile detection, Auto-HDR (also available in front camera), and panorama.

Connectivity and other features

The phone supports dual SIM and can connect to 2G, 3G and 4G bands. HTC Desire 10 Pro can be used as a hotspot for sharing internet connection via Wi-Fi. The phone also has Bluetooth v4.1 and GPS support via A-GPS and GLONASS. It has NFC for mobile payments and device connectivity as well. The phone comes with a 3.5mm audio jack and uses microUSB 2.0 for wired connectivity.

It packs a fingerprint sensor on the back panel for quick access to apps and phone along with accelerometer, proximity, and compass for enhanced user experience. It runs on Android 6.0 marshmallow. The dimensions of the phone are 156.5 x 76 x 7.9 mm and it weighs 165 grams. The HTC Desire 10 Pro is powered by non-removable Li-ion 3000 mAh battery. The company claims that it is good enough for 19 hours of talk time and 480 hours of standby time over 3G network. You can enjoy up to 53 hours of music playback on a single charge. It also supports fast charging.

The main competition of the phone will be with companies like Samsung, Apple, and LG. There are not many phones in the market with Helio P10 processor. However, the lack of Dual camera setup on the back which is becoming a hot selling feature these days may cut down sales to a minute extent. The overall innards look amazing, and it is interesting to see how this phone performs in the market. It will be available in Polar White, Stone Black, Royal Blue, and Valentine Lux color options.
