Huawei has been active since 1997 as a telecommunication company in China. It has the largest telecom infrastructure in the world. The company deals in a lot of different telecom industry related products. It entered Android mobile market a few years back and had introduced smartphones, tablets, and smart watches since then.
Huawei launched Mate 9 in November 2016, and now it has launched a premium version of the phone. Dubbed as Huawei Mate 9 Pro, the phone is available in Champagne Gold, Space Gray, Mocha Brown, Moonlight Silver, and Ceramic White color options. There are two variants of the phone available based on RAM and internal storage. The price of the phones is CNY 4699 and CNY 5299.

The phone features 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) touchscreen display. It gives the pixel density of approx 534 ppi while the screen-to-body ratio is 73.2 percent.
Processor and memory
The phone comes with the company’s own Hisilicon Kirin 960 chipset coupled with an octa-core processor with different clocking values. The 4 x Cortex-A73 cores are clocked at 2.4 GHz while the remaining 4 x Cortex-A53 cores are clocked at 1.8 GHz. It also packs very powerful Mali-G71 MP8 GPU which enhances the gaming and video playback experience to whole new level. As mentioned in the beginning, the phone comes in two variants based on memory and RAM.
The first variant has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage while the another variant has 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage. In the DUAL SIM phone, the phone has a hybrid SIM slot which can be used for memory expansion or DUAL SIM capabilities. In single SIM model, a dedicated microSD card slot is present. In both the models, the user can expand internal storage up to 256 GB.
The phone comes with a dual camera setup (20MP and 12MP) on the rear side that supports OIS and has the aperture value of f/2.2. There a Dual Tone LED flash with the rear camera for flawless photos in low light conditions. The rear camera supports interesting features like 2x optical zoom and comes with Leica Lenses. It also supports standard features like phase detection autofocus, touch focus, face detection, geo-tagging, HDR, and panorama.
It packs an 8 MP front camera for selfies and video chat that has the aperture value of f/1.9. Broad aperture on the front side will come in handy while shooting photos in low light. The phone supports 2G, 3G and 4G LTE networks. It uses EDGE, GPRS and LTE bands for mobile internet and can also serve as a hotspot for sharing high-speed mobile internet connection. The phone comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS support. It also packs Infrared port for controlling IR enabled gadgets and NFC for mobile payments. The phone uses USB Type-C 1.0 reversible connector for wired connectivity and charging.
It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.0 on the top. It measures 152 x 75 x 7.5 mm while the weight is 169 grams. The phone packs fingerprint scanner on the back panel for faster access. It is powered by Non-removable Li-Po 4000 mAh battery that supports fast charging.
