InFocus Corporations started its operations back in 1986 in the US. It is one of the leading innovators in the field of projection and display technologies. The company deals in high-end smartphones but sell them at very competitive rates. Chinese maker Foxconn makes most of the handsets for InFocus. InFocus has recently started promoting its products in the emerging Indian market. InFocus has launched a new handset with amazing innards for the Indian market. The InFocus Epic 1 is now available exclusively via Amazon India at the MRP of Rs.12999/-

Features of InFocus Epic 1

Display

The InFocus Epic 1 features a full-HD 5.5-inch LTPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The screen resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels, and it supports multi-touch as well.

Processor and memory

The InFocus Epic 1 sports a very powerful MediaTek Helio X20 chipset with the deca-core processor clocked at different values. It has 2 x Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 2GHz, 4 x Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.9GHz, and 4 x Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.4GHz. It features 3 GB RAM along with 32 GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card.

Optics

The phone carries a 16 MP rear camera with Dual-tone LED flash module and aperture value of f/2.0. InFocus Epic 1 supports features like phase detection autofocus, touch focus, auto focus, geo-tagging, smile detection, face detection, Auto IS, HDR, and panorama. The InFocus Epic 1 also packs an 8 MP front camera with an aperture value of f/1.8 and a wide angle 85mm lens that comes in handy while shooting group selfies. Both the cameras can shoot videos up to a max resolution of 1080p at 30 frames per second.

Connectivity

On the communication front, it supports Dual SIM over GSM network. It can connect to 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE bands. For mobile internet, it uses EDGE, GPRS, 3G and LTE networks. It also supports VoLTE. For other connectivity options, it has Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac support and can be used as a hotspot for sharing high-speed mobile internet. The phone also packs Bluetooth v4.1 and GPS chipset. InFocus Epic 1 packs a standard 3.5mm audio jack without FM support. The phone packs an IR-Blaster as well which acts as a universal remote control for Infrared compatible devices. For wired connectivity and charging it uses a USB Type-C port.

Other features

The phone runs on Android 6.0 marshmallow with InLife 2.0 UI on the top. It measures 153.00 x 76.00 x 8.40mm and weighs 160 grams. The phone packs a non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery. It comes with fast charging capabilities. The phone packs Compass or Magnetometer, Proximity, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Ambient light sensors for better user control. InFocus Epic 1 also has a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel for unlocking phone and apps. The company claims that it takes only a few milliseconds to unlock the phone with a fingerprint scanner. It also supports Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic for better voice quality. The phone has video and audio player along with editor. It also packs a document viewer for checking documents, sheets, and presentations.
