Karbonn launched 4G variant of K9 Viraat handset at Rs.5790/-

Back in August 2016, Karbonn launched K9 Viraat handset which was 3G enabled. After the launch of Reliance Jio, the demand for 4G handset has increased. The Indian company Karbonn is now introducing 4G variants of its popular handsets in the market. Karbonn K9 Viraat 4G’s major highlight is the 4G support, and it also has some improvements in other innards as well in comparison to its predecessor.

Features of Karbonn K9 Viraat 4G

Display

The phone comes with 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with HD resolution at 720 x 1280 pixels. The display has 2.5D curved glass protection, and it can project 16M colors.

Processor and memory

The phone features MediaTek MT6737 chipset coupled with a quad-core processor clocked at 1.25 GHz. The phone comes with Mali-T720 GPU which assures better graphics and gaming experience. Viraat 4G has 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage capacity. However, 3.5 GB out of these 8 GB is consumed by OS and apps. You can use the remaining space for storing apps, media files, and other documents. There is an option to increase the storage capacity up to 32 GB via microSD card.

Camera specifications

The phone comes with decent camera setup. It features an 8-MP rear camera with LED flash for low light photography. The rear camera supports features like autofocus, touch focus, geo-tagging, face detection, smile detection, HDR, and panorama. It also supports face beautification. You can do minor editing in the gallery app as well. The phone also packs a 5-MP front camera for selfies and video chat. Viraat 4G also has a LED flash module on the front which comes in handy while shooting selfies in low light. It assures the best possible quality of the selfies as flash removes the need for higher high ISO value. Both front and rear cameras can shoot videos at 720p at 30fps.

Communication

As mentioned above, this phone is a 4G variant of its predecessor. It can connect to 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE bands and uses EDGE, GPRS and LTE networks for mobile Internet. It also supports features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. You can use the phone as a hotspot for sharing internet connection with the devices nearby. The phone packs a 3.5mm audio jack with FM radio support. The phone uses microUSB v2.0 port for wired connection and charging.

Other features

The phone runs on Android 6.0 marshmallow. It comes with a 2800 mAh battery which can give up to 8 hours of talk time and 250 hours of standby time. The phone comes with preloaded Google apps like Gmail, Chrome, and Play store, etc. It also packs a document viewer and editor. The phone packs photo/video player and editor which enable you to do minor changes like cropping the video etc.
