The Indian mobile phone maker Lava has its headquarters in New Delhi. The company mainly deals in smartphones. It was founded in 2009, and since then it has been active in entry-level and mid-range smartphones. Lava also sells mobile phones in Africa. The company has recently announced a new phone for the Indian market. Dubbed as Lava X50+, the phone is an upgraded version of X50 which was launched in July 2016. The MRP of the phone is Rs.9199/-. The phone got listed recently on the company’s website, but Lava has not officially made any statement yet.
Features of Lava X50+
The company has not changed the looks of the phone from its predecessor. There are some notable changes in the innards, though. As the previous phone was launched before the 4G war begun in the market, the predecessor lacked VoLTE support which at the time didn’t seem to an important feature. The new model has the VoLTE support along with some other changes.
The phone features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with HD resolution (1280 x 720 pixels). Lava X50+ comes with screen protection and supports multi-touch as well.
Processor and memory
The phone packs quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz. Lava X50+ comes with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. You can add 32 GB more via microSD card.
As far as optics is concerned, the phone has a decent setup. It packs an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash. It comes with a 1.14µm big pixel sensor. The rear camera supports features like face beauty, panorama, HDR, time lapse video, slow motion video, and autofocus. The phone also packs a 5 MP front camera which also comes with a LED flash. Both front and rear cameras can shoot videos at a maximum resolution of [email protected]
The phone comes with dual SIM support. It can connect to 2G, 3G and 4G LTE networks. Only one SIM can support 4G network at a time. Other two SIM can work on 2G or 3G network. As other connectivity options, the phone can connect to Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0 and GPS. Lava X50+ also packs 3.5mm audio jack with FM support. The Phone uses microUSB 2.0 for wired connectivity and charging. It comes equipped with connectivity apps like Google Talk which are part of OS.
There are some features in the phone which increase the usability of the phone. It has a screen shrink feature which allows the user to operate the phone with only one hand. The Swipe to Capture feature of the phone allows you to click a photograph by swiping the screen with three fingers.
The Lava X50+ runs on Android 6.0 marshmallow. The dimensions of the phone are 155 x 71.8 x 8.85mm and it weighs 155 grams. The phone runs on non-removable li-po 2800 mAh battery and comes with power save mode to increase battery life. It comes with Proximity, Accelerometer and Ambient light sensors for better user experience. The phone is available in White Gold and Blue color.
