There are several ThinkPad laptops by Lenovo, lined up for launch this year. Also expected are several updates to the T and L series lines and the all-new hybrid system ThinkPad Yoga 370.For those awaiting for Lenovo laptops to be launched, the company announced that ThinkPad P51s, P51, and P71, all are set to be shipped in the months of March or April with ThinkPad’s Nvidia Quadro graphics and 7th Generation Core Series CPU’s. P71 happens to be the premium one in the lot of three.
These latest versions of Lenovo’s ThinkPad have come with Intel Kaby Lake processors and Nvidia Quadro graphics. Specialists and passionate users such as 3D animators or engineers users have great use for these high-end laptops. The P series of laptops are also equipped with color calibrators, 4K displays, and DDR4 memory.
The P51s series Thinkpad is the slimmest and lightest of all. It is around 0.79 inches in thickness and weighs around 1.95kg/4.3 pounds. It comes with a 15-inch display. P51s can house up to 7th generation Intel Core i7 CPUs, Nvidia Quadro graphics, and 32GB of RAM. You can select between 1080p, 1080p touch and 4K screens. P51s ThinkPad also happens to be the cheapest in the group. It has been priced at $1,049/ Rs.70,700 and will be available in the market from March.
The P51 is heavier than the P51s; however, it can house better graphics and a faster processor. P51 is 1.02 inches in thickness and 2.54kg/5.6 pounds in weight. The thickness is to provide space for a Nvidia Quadro M22200M graphics, Intel Xeon E3 processor, and 64GB RAM. The laptop has been designed to store up to three devices easily in RAID 0 or RAID 1. The P51 ThinkPad has been approximately priced at $1,399/ Rs.94,300 and would be made available for purchase from the month of April.
The highest version among the three is the P71 which can house up to Xeon E3-v6 processor, Nvidia Quadro P5000 graphics. It has a 17 inch 4K screen. The laptop weighs 3.44 kg /7.6 pounds and has a thickness of 1.2 inches. There is a 64GB RAM and offers up to four storage units, SSDs and conventional. It comes with an X-Rite Pantone sensor so the screen’s color can be calibrated on the 4K display. There is a Thunderbolt 3 port support to plug in bigger displays. Oculus, HTC, and Nvidia have certified the laptop as VR-ready. Priced at approximately $1,799/ Rs.1,21,200, the P71 ThinkPad will be due for sale from April this year.
The predecessors of these ThinkPads P50s, P50 and P70, had impressive reviews. They were nothing less than remarkable with their wonderful displays, quality performance, and brilliant keyboards. Their successors are expected to be ahead of them in every aspect.
The reviews would follow immediately after their launch. Lenovo as always kept up their brand name and given its users best technology. The P series set for launch this year will inevitably be worth a buy.
