Meizu Pro 6s launched: Helio X25 chipset coupled with 4GB RAM

Meizu was established in 2003. The company launched its first music player in 2007 while the first smartphone was launched in 2008. Back in 2015, the company entered the fast-growing Indian market and launched Android-based smartphones in both budget and mid-range section.

In the month of April 2016, the company launched Meizu Pro 6. It has finally launched the upgraded version of the name Meizu 6s for the Chinese market. The phone will have better body design, battery, and camera along with some other upgrades. The price of the new handset is CNY 2699 which roughly makes Rs.26700/-. It will be available in Grey, Gold, Silver and Rose Gold color variants.

Features of Meizu Pro 6s

Display

The phone features 5.2-inch full HD Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with the screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The 3D Touch display gives the pixel density of 424 ppi and the screen to body ratio is 71.3 percent. Meizu Pro 6s comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.

Processor and memory

The phone sports MediaTek MT6797T Helio X25 chipset coupled with the deca-core processor clocked at different values/ The first 2 x Cortex-A72 are clocked at 2.5 GHz, the next 4 x Cortex-A53 are clocked at 2 GHz, and the remaining 4 x Cortex-A53 are clocked at 1.4 GHz. It also packs Mali-T880 MP4 GPU that gives amazing graphics and gaming experience. Meizu Pro 6S comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. Unfortunately, there is no option to upgrade the internal storage that means the user has to rely on the cloud storage services like Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.

Camera specifications

The phone comes with 12-megapixel rear cameras with aperture value at f/2.0 with dual-tone LED flash module. It supports OIS along 4-axis. The sensor size in the rear camera is 1/2.9″ while the pixel size is 1.25 µm. It supports standard features like phase detection auto focus, auto focus, touch focus, geo-tagging, HDR, face detection, and panorama. The rear camera can shoot videos at a maximum resolution of 2160p at 30 frames per second. Meizu Pro 6s also packs a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies and video chat with aperture value at f/2.0. The pixel size of the front camera is 1.4 µm, and it can shoot videos at a maximum resolution of 1080p at 30 frames per second.

Communication

In terms of communication, the phone supports Dual SIM and can connect to 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE bands. For mobile internet, it uses Edge, GPRS, 3G and LTE networks. For other connectivity options, it has Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.1 and GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, and BDS depending on the region. It can be used as a hotspot for sharing the wireless mobile internet connection and can also transfer files via Wi-Fi Direct. The phone packs NFC chip for mobile payment and device connectivity. It uses microUSB v3.1 Type-C 1.0 reversible connector for wired connectivity and charging.

Other features

The Meizu Pro 6s runs on Android 6.0 marshmallow with Flyme 5.6 on the top. It measures 147.7 x 70.8 x 7.3 mm and weighs 163 grams. The phone packs non-removable Li-Ion 3060 mAh battery with mCharge 3.0 that enables fast charging. It comes with Fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button along with inbuilt sensors like accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass for better user control.
