The Japanese multinational company Panasonic deals in consumer electronics. It has established its roots deep in the Global market. Panasonic also manufactures smartphones. Recently it expanded its Eluga series with Eluga Mark 2 which is VoLTE enabled phone. The phone is available in India at the MRP of Rs.10499/-.
Perfect blend of technology and design
The phone comes with a 5.5-inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with 2.5D curved glass design. It has Asahi Dragontrail glass protection which saves it from minor scratch and bumps. The screen resolution is 1280 x 720 pixels, and it supports multi-touch as well.
It features MediaTek MT6753 chipset coupled with 1.3 GHz octa-core processor. It comes with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage which is further expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card.
The promise of great mobile photography
Panasonic smartphones come with great optics most of the time. This smartphone also has good optics on both rear and front end. The Eluga Mark 2 has a 13-megapixel rear camera with an aperture value of f/2.2 and 5P-element lens. It supports basic features like autofocus, touches focus, geo-tagging, HDR and panorama. The phone packs a 5-megapixel front camera as well with 4P-element lens and 88-degree wide angle coverage. The wide angle lens is good for group selfies.
The phone supports Dual SIM and can connect to 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE bands. Eluga Mark 2 also has Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth connectivity options. The phone can serve as a hotspot for sharing internet connection as well. Eluga Mark 2 packs standard 3.5mm audio jack with FM support.
It comes with a fingerprint scanner on the back panel which allows the user to access the phone and apps. The fingerprint sensor is also useful while clicking selfies. The phone runs on Android 6.0 marshmallow. Its dimensions are 151.00 x 76.00 x 7.70mm. Eluga Mark 2 comes with non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery which can give up to 12 hours of talk time. The phone also packs compass, proximity, accelerometer and ambient light sensors. It is available in Gold color.
The phone will be available with Flipkart during the Panasonic Phone Fest. The sale will run between November 23rd and November 25th. Many different models will go on sale during this period.
Pankaj Rana is the Business Head of Mobility Division at Panasonic India. He issued a statement on the launch of the phone. He said that the company had received a good response for the Eluga Mark handset. The new handset has full metal body design. It comes with better processing and internal storage. He also mentioned that the phone packs fast charging option as well.
The phone by Panasonic has a lesser market share in India. Samsung, Xiaomi, and Micromax rule the entry-level and mid-range sections. The main competition for Panasonic will be with these companies. The company has a long history of selling electronic products in India. It is famous for its innovative designs and features. With Eluga Mark 2, the company hopes to cash in that reputation as well.
