PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation VR, and PlayStation 4 Slim Due for Launch this February

Comment

The much awaited PlayStation VR, PlayStation 4 Pro, and PlayStation 4 Slim have finally been scheduled to be released in the first week of February 2017, by Sony. Sony will be a rival to HTC Vive and Oculus Rift for delivering the distinct experience to its users through their advanced headset.

Sources say that the release announcement will be made official at the India Gaming Show that is planned to be hosted from February 2 to February 5, 2017, in the capital city of Delhi. Sony will make the products available in the market by mid-Feb.

The Oculus Rift needs extra graphic cards and a sophisticated computer to work. Sony’s PlayStation VR, on the other hand, plugs in directly to the basic PlayStation 4 gaming console.

PlayStation VR Design and Price

The PlayStation VR weighs about 610 grams and is 185x187x277 mm in measurements. The design is standard and needs to be attached to the top. The headset has a 5.7-inch FHD display that splits across both your eyes opening a 100-degree field view for you.

The headset has been made with six axis motion sensing which consists of a three-axis accelerometer and three-axis gyroscope. There are built-in sensors in the headset. Sony disclosed that several publishers and developers have already started designing games for PlayStation VR.

The retail price of PlayStation VR is approximately Rs. 41,990.

PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation Slim

Besides the PlayStation VR, two more PlayStation consoles are in line for the launch. The PlayStation 4 Pro is a polished and a more powerful version of PlayStation 4 with support for 4K television, delivers better frame rate in many games and has enhanced VR compatibility. Needless to say, the gaming experience is completely divine. It is an ultimate gaming weapon for all the gamers. PlayStation 4 Pro can be availed at a retail price of Rs. 38,990.

PlayStation 4 Slim will be taking over the place of PlayStation 4. It has been designed to be the basic model, but the device has been made smaller and looks sleek. PlayStation 4 Slim would be available at the same price as that of original PlayStation 4. The 500 GB PlayStation Slim can be purchased for Rs. 27,990 and the 1TB one can be bought for Rs. 32,990.

Dual Shock Controllers have been added to the new PlayStation 4 consoles, and the optical out has been removed.

What Exactly is the Date of Release?

The reason for Sony not announcing a specific release date could be a problem in the logistics to deliver the consoles to several stores across the country. This is why the company has declared a comprehensive release period in which the PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation VR, and PlayStation Slim would be made available in the market.

It has been quite some time since the release of consoles offshore. Sony struggled with BIS certification which delayed the process. However, since things are back on track now – gamers buckle up!
