Review: Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter – Connect speakers wirelessly.

Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter

Smartphones have taken the centre stage in recent years with the devices being a central part of people’s everyday lives. Thanks to the new market of smartphones, a new market was able to thrive a market of speakers specifically Bluetooth speakers.

Some have proven to be quite expensive, and this is why Logitech has brought an inexpensive Bluetooth adapter that will turn any speaker into a wireless one. Here are some of the features of this adapter:

  • It’s a Bluetooth audio adapter

I’m sure you could tell from the name. This device is a Bluetooth audio adapter that has the capability to make your speakers stream music via Bluetooth from your smartphone or tablet. On the matter of how it does, that will be covered later.

  • Multipoint Bluetooth connectivity

The device can connect to more than one device at the same time. This means you could connect your tablet and your smartphone at once and stream music from either one.

  • Easy pairing and automatic re-pairing

Pairing is as easy as the press of a button with this device and the best part is once you have already paired with the device. It will remember your smartphone or tablet and there will be no need to pair again.

  • Long range wireless

The wireless has quite a distance on it. The Bluetooth adapter allows you to stream music from up to 15m that is about 50 feet away from your speakers.

  • Works with most speakers

The compatibility of this adapter is vast. It can plug into any powered PC speaker, home stereo system and more using the RCA or 3.5 mm jack. It has to be noted that this device is only a receiver and not a transmitter.

Now that we know a bit about the features that this device has to offer. Let’s look at the design of the device.

Design and specifications

The adapter is a tiny device measuring at 50X50X23mm which allows it to fit in the palm of your hand. This allows the device to be obtrusive; you could even set it up so that no one can see it and it is hidden.

The adapter is mostly black in color and is mostly made of tough plastic. This makes it capable of withstanding some rough usage. If you are one to drop your devices, don’t worry the manufacturers did consider you.

It has a button on the top, just a single button. The main purpose of it is to initiate the pairing of devices. The 3.5 mm and RCA output and power socket are all located at the rear of the device. The firm provides you with an RCA to 3.5mm cable in the box with every purchase.

The device supports Bluetooth 3.0 which is a bit of a letdown considering most phones are at 4.0. As said earlier the range of the device is placed at 15m, but only if the connected device is in the line of sight. The adapter also has a small blue LED at its bottom; it usually blinks when in pairing mode or is constant when paired with a device.

How it works

The device can pair with most speakers and allow you to stream your music wirelessly from either your smartphone or tablet. To set up this device, you’ll need to connect it to your speakers using cables. After this is done, long press the Bluetooth button on the speaker to put it into pairing mode. Pair it with your smartphone or tablet and watch as it plays music endlessly via the speakers.

The way the device works is it converts the wireless data into analogue signals that are transported through the wires and into the speakers. The device has shown that it is rather practical, and most users have not reported a drop in the Bluetooth connection or sound quality. The device like any other has its pros and cons, and they are as follows:

  • Can connect and switch between more than one device

The adapter is unique in this way. The user could connect and pair both their smartphone and tablet with the device and switch between these devices when playing music.

  • The compatibility is vast

The device can work with a number of speakers that is PC speakers, home stereo systems you name it. All you need is an RCA 0r 3.5mm jack.

  • Long wireless range

The device has a wireless range of up to 15metres. This is quite a distance, and as long as you are within this range, you could still stream music endlessly.

  • It only works with a line of sight connection

The sound quality and connection can’t be guaranteed if your device is out of your line of sight. The device might have a long wireless range, but it is a line of sight connection which is a bit of a disappointment.
