The year 2016 was one of the worst years for South Korean company Samsung. The Galaxy Note 7 brought losses worth billions and the market image of the company was also affected. However, the company is now working on reviving the losses. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is set to launch somewhere around August 2017. If we believe the rumors and leaks the upcoming phablet looks promising. The upcoming phablet is very important for Samsung as the previous version that was Galaxy Note 7 has let down the users. There is a chance that Samsung will bring the best possible features in the Note 8.
There are good chances that the phone will come with a 6.2-inch panel. The screen resolution is much likely to be 4K with 3840 x 2160 pixels. The phablet is likely to be less than 8mm thick and will come with an almost bezel-less screen. Samsung will try to make the phone as secure and safe to use as possible. There is a very much chance that the phone will come with IP68 certification.
The dual rear camera setup is becoming a trend nowadays. Samsung may bring it in the upcoming phablet as well. A high capacity battery somewhere near 3500 mAh is expected in the phone. It will support fast charging, fast wireless charging and USB-C support. As the main issue with the Galaxy Note 7 was related to batteries, there is a big chance that company may reconsider the thickness and features related to battery power.
The phablet will run on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. There is much chance that the Android O update will reach soon after the launch. The usual list of sensors that include fingerprint scanner, heart rate scanner, and iris scanner should be available on the phone along with some basic sensors like accelerometer, proximity, compass, etc.
Processor and memory
It is expected that the company will ensure high processing power with least possible battery consumption. That means it may opt for Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or next-gen Exynos processor with ARM Mali-G71 GPU. The phone will come with at least 6 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage capacity. Recently, Samsung has acquired Harman whose audio equipment are very famous. The company may incorporate some of Harman’s audio technology in the upcoming phone as well.
The virtual assistant
Some time back, Samsung’s mobile chief D.J.Koh said in an interview that the company is determined to bring better, safer and very innovative note 8 soon in the market. As Samsung is working on its own virtual assistant Bixby, there is a good chance that it will be included in Note 8 as well. The virtual assistant can manage a lot of different tasks for you just like Siri and Cortana. It will be interesting to see how far Samsung can go with the Virtual Assistants.
Lastly, to make sure that Samsung manages to attract buyers for the new phone, it is important not to go for some unrealistic price hike. Hopefully, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will bring back some positivity for the company in 2017.
