The South Korean giant Samsung is all set to launch Samsung Galaxy S8 on March 29th. The phone may reach India in mid-April. Samsung had a rough year in terms of financial and PR in 2016. After what happened with Note 7, the company is not going to leave any stone unturned to make sure that it gains the glory and market share.
As per the leaks, The phone will pack a bezel-less design with a fingerprint scanner on the back panel. The recent renders suggest that the fingerprint scanner’s position is not that easy to access. The renders confirmed that the phone will have 3.5mm audio while the previous rumors suggested otherwise.
The phone will have 5.8-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with QHD screen resolution at 2960 x 1440 pixels. It will give the pixel density of approx 568 ppi. The rumors suggest that it will have an approx 84.4percent screen-to-body ratio. The phone will come with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone will come with IP68 certification which confirms the dust resistant and water resistant properties.
Processor and memory
As per the latest rumors, the phone will come with Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 chipset coupled with an octa-core processor. It will come in two variants based on internal storage. The first variant will have 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage capacity while the second variant will have 4 GB RAM with 128 GB storage capacity. The second variant may have 6 GB RAM, but it is still not clear. It is rumored that the phone will come with a dedicated microSD card slot and the SIM slot-2 will also be able to support a microSD card. That means you can upgrade the phone with 256GB + 256GB storage capacity.
The phone will pack 12 Mp rear and 8 MP front cameras. The rear camera will be able to shoot 4K videos while the front camera will be able to shoot 1080p video. It can also shoot slow motion videos at [email protected] Along with that, it can shoot 4K video and 9MP photo simultaneously.
The phone will have a number of connectivity options. For the mobile network, it can connect to 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE bands. It also packs other connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The phone supports Wi-Fi direct that means you will be able to transfer files over a Wi-Fi connection. It will also come with NFC support for mobile payments.
The phone will run on Android 7.0 nougat with TouchWiz UI on the top. It will pack non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery with Fast charging capabilities. It will come with an IRIS scanner, fingerprint scanner along with other sensors like accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer and heart rate.
Still, all the above-mentioned features are just rumors. It is though confirmed that the phone will be launched soon in different markets in phases, but the company has not shed any light on the features yet. The upcoming phone holds a lot for Samsung as it will eye on regaining the trust of the loyal customers.
