Sony Could Provide Batteries for Samsung Galaxy S8


One of the biggest smartphone maker Samsung is all set to use Sony batteries in its new flagship Galaxy S8. Hope you all are aware of the Galaxy Note 7. This smartphone was famous not because of its features but due to its faulty battery. Many smartphones around the world had blasted last year. After many incidents, Samsung had to recall Galaxy Note 7 from the market. The company had to incur the heavy loss due to this.

As per previous reports, Samsung’s upcoming phone Galaxy S8 also may use same batteries. Now, as per the fresh report from Wall Street Journal, South Korean company do not want to repeat the same mistake. The company has called third party supplier for Galaxy S8. This upcoming smartphone will use Sony batteries.

Although both tech giants are rival to each other in the smartphone market. As of now, none of these has given clearance regarding this deal. But, one thing is very clear Samsung don’t want to take any risk this time.

Samsung had to recall 2.6 million smartphones after the blast case in Galaxy Note S7. These batteries made by its child company SDI, located in China. Company’s reputation fell down after this. Now, to boost customer confidence and to regain the faith company has taken this firm decision.

Samsung was all set to launch this new flagship in this MWC 2017 later this month. But Samsung’s launch date is delayed due to investigations into Galaxy Note S7 fiasco, while some other reports suggest that phone is redesigned. Samsung chief has confirmed that he will announce the launch date of this flagship in MWC 2017. Samsung is also rumored to show a short Galaxy S8 teaser in this event.

As per earlier leaks, Galaxy S8 will come with many advanced features. The device rumored to come with the Iris scanner. This feature will allow users to unlock the smartphone just by looking at it. As per reports, this phone will come in two screen size variants – 5.7-inch and 6.2-inch. Further, this device will come with the virtual assistant app. This will sport recently announced Snapdragon 835 SoC from Qualcomm. This smartphone might come with 6GB of RAM or an 8GB of RAM. Rumors suggest that it may come with a 3250mAh battery and 3500 mAh. On the camera front, this device will come with dual camera setup. On the rear front, this device will use the 16-megapixel lens and another 8-megapixel lens.
