Swipe launched budget 3G smartphone Konnect Grand at Rs.2799/-

Comment

The California-based mobile company Swipe has introduced a number of budget smartphones in Indian market. The company mainly targets the customer base that wants to upgrade their feature phone but does not want to spend a lot of money on them. Swipe also has a secured funding by Kallari Group (India) of about $4.9 million.

Swipe has recently launched Swipe Konnect Grand which is yet another budget smartphone at an attractive price of just Rs.2799/-. Now, this phone is meant mainly for those customers who do not have 4G connectivity in their area yet. The reason is Swipe has already introduced Swipe Konnect New 4G at the same price but with 4G capabilities.

Features of Swipe Konnect Grand

The phone comes with 5-inch FWVGA touchscreen display with SD resolution at 854 x 480 pixels. The phone supports multi-touch and comes with unspecified Glass protection.

Processor and memory

We have always mentioned that when it comes to budget phones, you should not raise your expectations too high in the terms on innards. The phone comes with a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. It packs 1 GB RAM and 8GB internal storage which you can increase up to 32 GB via microSD card. The OS and apps take around 3.5 GB and leave only 4.5 GB for the user, so it is always better to add some storage capacity to the phone. Also, you have the option to use Google Drive or Dropbox but in that case make sure to connect your phone to Wi-Fi while accessing the files on cloud storage. 3G connectivity will not give good speed, and you will end up frustrated in case you want some file from cloud storage urgently.

Camera specifications

The Swipe Konnect Grand comes with very basic camera setup. It has a 5MP rear camera with LED flash module. The rear camera supports features like touch focus, geo-tagging, HDR and panorama. However, you will miss the auto focus facility and may not be able to get good pictures of you do not focus manually beforehand. The phone also packs a 2MP front camera which is okay for selfies and video chat. Again, do not expect much from the camera setup of a budget phone. Both the cameras can shoot videos at [email protected]

Connectivity

On the communication front, the phone can support Dual SIM and can connect to 2G and 3G networks. The phone also has other connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. You can use the phone as Wi-Fi hotspot to share the mobile internet connection, but as it supports only up to 3G speed, you may not get good speed on your other devices or PC/Laptop. However, in the case of emergency, it can be a good choice. The phone comes with 3.5mm audio jack and FM radio support. It uses microUSB v2.0 port for wired connectivity and charging.

Other features

The phone runs on Android 6.0 marshmallow. The dimensions of the phone are 143.00 x 71.50 x 8.40mm and it weighs 105 grams. The Swipe Konnect Grand comes with 2500 mAh battery which is good enough for 6 hours of talk time and 180 hours of standby time. The phone is available in black color option.
