Videocon launched 4G enabled Ultra50 at Rs.8990/- with Jio Welcome offer


Videocon is one of the largest and diversified companies from India. It has its headquarters in Mumbai. The company has 17 different manufacturing sites in India and established plants in Mainland China, Italy, Mexico, and Poland. Videocon started with manufacturing simple feature phones in 2009 and entered the smartphone market on later stages. In July 2015, the company launched its first flagship smartphone Infinium Z51+. Since then, the company has launched very affordable yet powerful handsets.

The company has launched yet another entry level smartphone with 4G VoLTE support in the Indian market. Dubbed as Ultra50, the phone has the MRP of Rs.8990/-. It will be available on both online and offline platforms from November. The phone is available in Space Grey and Gold color options.

Features of Videocon Ultra50


The Videocon Ultra50 comes with a 5-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with the screen resolution 1280 x 720 pixels. It supports multi-touch and has a stylish curved design.

Processor and memory

It features MediaTek MT6735 chipset coupled with a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz. It also packs 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage which is expandable up to 64 GB via microSD card. 3 GB RAM in this price range is not common. The phone also carries a Mali-T720 GPU for better graphics and gaming experience.


The camera is the main selling point of the phone. Videocon Ultra50 carries 13 MP rear camera with LED flash module. The rear camera supports features like autofocus, geo-tagging, ISCOCELL, Corning Gorilla Camera Lens, SWDR, Smile Shutter, Face Detection, Night Vision, HDR, and panorama. The phone also packs a 5 MP front camera with LED flash module. Both rear and front cameras can shoot video up to 720p at 30 frames per second.

The Videocon Ultra50 supports Dual SIM over GSM network. It can connect to EDGE, GPRS, 3G and LTE bands for mobile internet. It also supports VoLTE. The phone comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS and Bluetooth v4.0 as other communication options. Videocon Ultra50 has a standard 3.5mm audio jack with FM radio support. For wired connectivity and charging it uses micro USB v2.0 port.

Other features

The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 marshmallow. It measures 148.10 x 72.80 x 11.27mm. Proximity, Gyroscope, Accelerometer and Ambient light sensors for better user control. The phone also carries a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button for security and faster access to device and apps. The Videocon Ultra50 come preloaded with a  number of apps like SOS, EROS Now, Gameloft Games, Opera Mini, SwiftKey, Office suite, ChillX, Daily Hunt, PayPlutus, SBI Buddy and ChillX. It supports active noise cancellation with dedicated mic for better voice quality.

It supports dual app instance that means you can run two accounts of WhatsApp on the single handset. This helps those users who want to keep personal and professional life separate. It also packs Reliance Jio Welcome offer that includes free data, calling and messages till 31st December 2016. The phone packs a powerful non-removable Li-ion 3000 mAh battery.
