Xiaomi seems to be gaining popularity as 2016 had been quite prosperous for the company with the launch of smartphones like Redmi Note 3, Redmi 3s and Redmi 3s Prime.
The Chinese company had released the Xiaomi Mi MIX last year, and the smartphone hadn’t gone unnoticed because of its monstrous specs. Mi MIX was one of the highlights of 2016 which is why all eyes are glued on for its successor.
CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun recently posted an image along with some information on his Weibo account. In his post he mentioned about Phillipe Starck who was the designer of Mi MIX, would be designing the Mi MIX II. Also, He mentioned that the body of the Mi MIX II would be increased to 93% more compared to the first Mi MIX.
Both Lei Jun and Phillipe Starck have already decided how Mi MIX II would look and would go through it once again. Jun said that they would try to keep the design original and innovative just like the Mi MIX. The best feature of Xiaomi Mi MIX was that it was bezel-less.
However, analyst Sun Changxuhas seen an iPhone 8 prototype before and says that Apple is also getting set to fashion a similar device. If this is so, then Xiaomi would have to be more ingenious and inventive with their Mi MIX II.
The technology of Mi MIX II would surpass that of the Mi MIX. According to reports, the Mi MIX II would feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner hidden in the screen so it wouldn’t affect the screen to body ratio. Snapdragon 835 processor might power the Mi MIX II with a RAM of 6GB. The screen would be 6.4 inches with a 3D touchscreen.
Although there are no reports on what the storage of the Mi MIX II would be but it is said that it would have three versions – ROM 64GB, ROM 128GB, and ROM 256GB. There would also be a scaling front camera and a 16MP rear camera. The smartphone would run on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 Nougat OS.
Xiaomi’s Mi MIX had won several domestic and international awards for its brilliant design that took the idea of concept phone to a whole new level.
Mi MIX has already set high standards which are why we have quite high expectations from Mi MIX II.
