The Internet giant Yahoo has been in the business for quite a long time. However, past few years were not good for the company. Still, there is one product which is winning hearts since ages. Yahoo Answers has been one of the company’s prized properties. It has not only bought helpers and seekers together on the sale platform, but it has also increased the company’s reach to the large section of users. Yahoo Answers still has more than 300 million active users every month. It was not-so-believable that even with such a prized possession Yahoo never came up with a mobile app for the same.
A month ago, Yahoo introduced Yahoo Hive to selected users. The application was an invite-based beta version to test the features of a mobile app for Yahoo Answers. The company has finally launched the app officially for Android and iOS users. Rebranded as Yahoo Answers Now, the app is an acknowledgment that Yahoo needs a mobile platform to survive in the smartphone-enabled world.
Yahoo provided a few highlighted features of the app:
Matching: When a user will post the question in the app, it will go to those responders who qualify for that particular topics based on their previous replies. This will ensure that the user who is asking the question gets the best possible answers in the shortest possible time frame.
Following: In the web version, there is no option to follow the user whom you admire for the answers. You can follow him or her in the application and see what s/he posts in the future.
Give Thanks: There is an option to say “Thank You” to the responder. In case you find the reply useful, send the Thank You note from within the app.
Rich Media: The seekers and responders can answer with rich media as well. You can include images, links and another form of media in the replies.
Blazing fast: If someone answers to your question or you get a thank, you note for the answer you gave, the notification will appear on your smartphone instantly.
Some more details about the app

On iOS is it compatible with version 9.0 or higher while on Android minimum requirement is Android 4.4. The main competition for the application is Quora which has gained popularity to an unbelievable extent since its launch in 2010.
Tim Su who is the Director of Engineering at Yahoo issued a statement about the app. He said that the company is happy to extend its popular platform for the mobile users as well. At the moment the app is available for the users of US above the age of 12. The services will extend for rest of the world very soon. The app allows the users to post the questions and get answers from experienced responders quickly.
